Now that there are only 2 Mondays left before 2020, I’m thinking about skills that I would like to develop for myself in the new year.
I want to get my feet wet in coding, and continuing to learn languages, specifically Mandarin.
However, I haven’t put too much thought in regards to what I need to unlearn in order to enjoy the process of acquiring those skills.
Although I’m a language aficionado and learning them is one of the things I most enjoy in life, in all honesty, I feel a bit intimidated by the challenge.
Mandarin is completely different from the languages I’ve studied so far, let alone coding!!!!
Coding intimidates me more.
I have 2 options:
1. Letting intimidation turn into fear, resulting in a massive mental blockage that will hinder my learning experience and delay my progress.
2. Unlearning the idea that these are difficult languages and simply dive into the challenge fully aware that I will make a million mistakes as I go, and that I will have to ask for help if I want to succeed in this endeavour.
You know what? I’m gonna go with option 2 and see what happens.
A new decade is just around the corner!
What do you want to unlearn so you make the most of the projects you plan to develop in the new year?
