International Alumni Panel
March 14 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Lessons from international students alumni with thriving careers
There is no better advice than the one from someone who has been in your shoes.
That’s why we gathered a new group of former international students thriving in their careers to share with you their journey, mistakes, challenges, and everything they endured after graduating, as well as the strategy they executed to land jobs in their fields and progress in their careers.
We asked them for their best piece of advice that students must apply if they want to succeed.
Here is what they said:
“Make sure you work closely with a counsellor who can support you in your job search and form strong connections with people online via informational interviews.” Paul Owe – GCP Cloud Engineer at BMO
“Gain practical experience through internships and volunteer work to enhance your resume.” Riddi Modhi – National Business Program Manager at Microsoft
“ I would recommend starting networking as soon as you land in Canada.” Ranika Juyal – Media Strategist at OMD
“My best advice would be to Keep an open mind!” Shreya Bakshi – Team Lead Warranty Operations at Canada Goose
This Tuesday, March 14th at 7 pm EST, we are hosting an Orbit 5 Live Alumni Panel where these former international students will share with you their secret sauce to build a thriving career in Canada after graduation.
Our panellists will share with you:
– The challenges that grads face once school is over
– Ways to overcome barriers and self-sabotaging
– The skills to strengthen to be more competitive
– Managing rejection and boosting confidence
– Career progression after landing the first job
You will have the chance to ask your own questions, so be ready to engage in an insightful and value-packed conversation with exceptional professionals.
Help us spread the word among your friends, and come acquire the skills they don’t teach you at school.
Keep shining – Keep thriving!
